Europe’s big picture on health

“The Age Wave”-people born in the wake of World War II around the world-has been a predictable phenomenon since the 1950’s, and yet at every juncture, the crest has come in as a flood. In Europe, by 2050, a third of the population will be over age 60, and the number of people older than 80 will increase by 180% over 2006 figures. Needs of the elderly, combined with hard economic times, pose a huge economic problem, but at the same time, it presents a large opportunity for telemedicine solutions.
