Connected Care: National Telehealth Network

United Health Group and Cisco Systems recently announced their partnership to create the first national telehealth network aimed, in part, at reaching underserved patients in rural areas. United’s service providers number 590,000 physicians and care professionals and more than 4,900 hospitals, serving some 70 million Americans. “Connected Care,” as this collaboration is called, supposedly creates an audio, visual and information experience “remarkably similar to an in-person visit with a doctor.” MORE
