Professor Giuseppe Marineo, at the Medical Bioengineering Research Center in Rome, has developed a device for electronic nerve stimulation that “scrambles” pain sensations sent to the central nervous system.  Interestingly, successive treatments lengthen “no pain” periods.  Makers of this device estimate that the world market for pain management is around $40b.  MORE
