Lilly’s Free Phenotypic Drug Discovery Offer
“Lilly will provide no-cost access to phenotypic assay panel for external investigators.” Using parallel synthesis, a single investigator can generate billions of compounds at a time. And with high-throughput testing, those compounds can be narrowed down, but that’s only the beginning of a long and costly process to discover a new drug that works. Eli Lilly addresses this with what it calls a “Fully Integrated Pharmaceutical Network,” which casts its net for university researchers as far as it can go. Recently, Lilly announced that external researchers can submit compounds for a phenotypic assay panel for free, and receive a full report on the biological data that the assay detects. The program specifically addresses Alzheimer’s, diabetes, cancer and osteoporosis. EXPLORE THE LILLY SITE FOR MUCH MORE
