Researchers at the University of Warwick (Coventry, UK) have developed an extruded bioceramic (calcium phosphate) that mimics natural bone. It has a honeycomb texture that allows blood vessels to penetrate. With implanted bone cells, this artificial scaffolding gradually gets absorbed, leaving a natural structure in its place. MORE
