Seizure Sensor for Epilepsy

Here’s an interesting twist on the emergency alert bracelet. Artefact (Seattle, WA) is in the process of developing an epilepsy monitor that can sense several biometric changes, raise an alarm, send an emergency call to 911, and pull up instructions for bystander intervention. The device measures hydration, temperature, pulse, and oxygen saturation, along with an accelerometer and microphone. A pressure sensor sends the emergency call. The device can be worn as a watch or as a patch on the forearm or stomach, with Bluetooth data transmission to a smart phone. MORE
