Japan has the highest percentage of people over age 65 of any country which explains why it leads the world in research about arthritis, joint pain, and arthroscopic surgery. Here is news about a Phase III clinical trial at Osaka University Hospital using allogenic synovium-derived mesenchymal stem cells to grow synthetic knee cartilage which has been implanted.
