Stem Cells for Cosmetic Surgery

Regenerative medicine holds many wonders, but not without worries too.  This piece tells how plastic surgeons in Beverly Hills, CA implanted mesenchymal stem cells for a patient’s face lift and then found bone fragments developing in her eyelid.  Since stem cells are not drugs, their use (including the difficulty of removing them under adverse circumstances) is not covered by the FDA.  MORE
