Regenerative medicine doesn’t always imply stem cell technologies. Researchers at Tufts University have found that synthesized peptides, based on a bacterial collagenase, have promoted faster wound healing because they stimulate blood vessel formation and cell proliferation. So far this has proven effective in animal studies and the investigators look forward to human trials where the peptides are delivered as a powder or gel. MORE
