Biomedical engineer Ken Kotz and colleagues at Massachusetts General Hospital have built a microfluidics device that captures mobilized neurtophils from a tiny blood sample. Their aim in doing this is to analyze genes and proteins being expressed during an inflammation response. Antibodies specific for neutrophils line the device’s channels, allowing a capture in five minutes. MORE
