Plasma proteomics of coronary heart disease
“This study [from Helmholtz Zentrum München] identified novel protein biomarkers associated with incident CHD in individuals with and without T2D [Type 2 diabetes] and reaffirmed previously reported protein candidates. These findings enhance our understanding of CHD pathophysiology and provide potential targets for prevention and treatment. . . . . Our study is the first to establish proteomics-enriched predictive models for incident CHD separately for those with and without prevalent T2D. However, it is noteworthy that in the validation study, protein-enriched models significantly improved the predictive performance based on selected performance measures only, particularly among those with T2D.” MORE
