Hardly a day passes without some news about cyber insecurity. Banks, movie studios, many kinds of manufactures, and universities are blackmailed for their “information.” What all these situations have in common is a high degree of money-saving automation and indispensable Internet connectivity. In healthcare, everything from hospital delivery tugs to surgical robots are similarly automated and connected—thus at risk for a crime wave that not only takes money, but lives as well.
