Siemens Hearing Aid Technology

At the Consumer Electronics Show and other expos earlier this year, Siemens exhibited its “miniTek wireless remote streamer” for hearing aids. It is a small (smaller than a mini iPod) device that relies on Bluetooth connectivity to send digital sound from any audio source directly to a hearing aid, deep in the ear canal. While this piece doesn’t mention many uses, it is easy to imagine how this might be employed in health coaching, for driving alertness, biosensor warnings, and memory reminders. MORE
