Automated Mammogram Reading

It’s not uncommon for radiologists to batch mammogram images and then examine them at the same time. Meanwhile, the patients are sweating bullets waiting for the results. In this piece, radiologists at Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard and MIT have developed a deep learning algorithm that can scan mammograms with 95% consensus from actual radiologists. The data for this algorithm came from a training set of 41,479 images. MORE
