The Evolving Digestible Robot
May 23, 2017 | Terry Sharrer
In labs around the world, engineers are designing components—batteries, lenses, propulsion systems—that are evolving into ingestible/digestible robots. Researchers from Intelligent Systems Laboratory at Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne have developed a possible motor or actuator for such a robot made from gelatin that reacts to conditions in the GI tract in producing movement.
