Implantable BP Sensor

The FDA has approved an implantable wireless device to monitor pulmonary artery pressure. The manufacturer, CardioMEMS (Atlanta, GA), designed the device to be implanted in the pulmonary artery and send a signal to a receiver in a bed pillow, and then relay the measurement to a bedside monitor that can alert a healthcare provider of impending heart failure.
