Amazon partners with Healthcare companies
“Alexa,” Amazon’s digital assistant, is now turning from ephemeral information services to medical surveillance and diagnostics. ““She” can track blood glucose levels, describe symptoms, access post-surgical care instructions, monitor home prescription deliveries and make same-day appointments at the nearest urgent care center.” This has become possible since Amazon won permission to use patient records usually protected under HIPAA. R&D is advancing quickly, as for example, a listening ability to distinguish labored breathing, and differentiate coughs from sneezes. MORE
