Pulses of low current electricity can cause heart tissue to regenerate. Researchers at the Medical University of Vienna have shown that an implantable device, with two electrodes (one place in a ventricle, and the other on the heart’s outer tissue), can regenerate cardiac muscle when a pacemaker is insufficient to keep the heart beating.
