Implant heals heart

Pulses of low current electricity can cause heart tissue to regenerate.  Researchers at the Medical University of Vienna have shown that an implantable device, with two electrodes (one place in a ventricle, and the other on the heart’s outer tissue), can regenerate cardiac muscle when a pacemaker is insufficient to keep the heart beating.  The device is implanted laparoscopically.
