3D Body Mapping of Damaged Organs
October 1, 2019 | Terry Sharrer
Using a tissue scaffold with arrays of sensors, tissue engineers at Purdue University have shown how to monitor the electrophysical behavior of cells and tissues. Data from the sensors produce a 3D map that tracks changes. “Our technology offers diverse options for sensing and works in moist internal body environments that are typically unfavorable for electronic instruments. Their next step is “to test the device in stem cell therapies with potential applications in the regenerative treatment of diseases.“ See the videos in the linked ACS Nano publication.
