A Blood Test for Relapsed Breast Cancer

Dying breast cancer tumors release declining levels of mutant DNA into the blood, unless those tumors are recurring. And, there is a test for recurrence from Natera (San Carlos, CA). Its “Signatera” blood test accounts for DNA fragments associated with HER2 positive, hormone receptor-positive, and triple negative breast tumors. Clinical testing at two centers in England showed 89% accuracy for discovering relapses. MORE
