Mechanical Tissue-Resection Device
September 13, 2016 | Terry Sharrer
In this age of molecular wonders, there’s still lots to be said for good ol’ mechanical engineering, as this piece shows. A surgical instrument called “the RESECTR” allows a gynecological surgeon to observe and remove uterine polyps with this single use instrument. The cutting design is a “drive by wire internally oscillating cutting blade,” with a 5mm or 7.5mm viewing window. The maker is Digital Access (Park City, UT). MORE
