This could be a wonderful thing, but let’s wait and see. Strata Oncology (Ann Arbor, MI) is offering free genetic testing for 100,000 cancer patients. That number is about 6% of the 1.7 million new cases this year, but it could provide documentary evidence for greater insurance reimbursement of genetic testing. Strata’s objective is to identify more drugable targets for the pharmas. This report does not say if, in addition to the sequencing data, referring physicians will receive an actionable report that will actually help their patients. MORE
