Drones for Organ Delivery

In order to find a “cure” for pulmonary arterial hypertension that afflicted her daughter, a Silver Spring, Maryland entrepreneur started a company which is United Therapeutics. Through UT’s subsidiary, Lung Biotechnology, the company hopes to provide “manufactured” lungs for transplantation, and to assure delivery of those organs to hospitals, UT has ordered a thousand drones from a Chinese manufacturer (each drone is designed to carry a single passenger, though that person will not be a pilot).
