How, exactly, obesity, Type 2 diabetes, and elevated cholesterol figure as cancer risks have been a mystery all the while being observed. Now, researchers at the Wistar Institute (Philadelphia) have a suspicious link in the p53 tumor suppressor gene. A specific single nucleotide polymorphism of p53 causes obesity associated insulin resistance. This would make sense considering a tumor growth’s demand for more glucose. MORE
