Neurosurgeons at Washington University of St. Louis have developed a tiny implantable temperature and pressure sensor to measure traumatic brain injury conditions and wirelessly transmit its data. The device is about the size of a pencil tip, and is made of silicon and polylactic-co-glycolid acid which breaks down and is absorbed over time. Success in animal studies set the stage for human trials. MORE
