Sensing Heartbeat with Radar

Today, ECG testing is done with electrodes stuck to the skin and wires from those patches to the electrocardiograph. Usually, the patient is lying down. Researchers at Kyoto University and Panasonic Corporation, however, have developed a means for recording heartbeats, with the leads and wire, and while a person is going about normal activities. This technology involves high sensitive-spread-spectrum radar, and a unique signal analysis algorithm. It’s said to be as accurate at the traditional ECG. MORE
