Wearable Blood Flow Monitor

Electrical engineers at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign have designed a prototype blood flow sensor as a wearable patch. Layers of silicon, gold, chromium and copper make up this “epidermal electronic” device which senses heat flowing through a major blood vessel. An algorithm calculates the “heat map” continuously over a 24 hour period. MORE
