This is barely to the prestage of baby’s first words, but regenerative medicine researchers at the University of Wisconsin have created a synthetic vocal cord (from vocal cord cells taken from cadavers and grown on a collagen scaffold) that resonates when a stream of air passes over it, though they say that the unique sound of a person’s voice has much to do with the throat, nose and mouth beyond vocal cords.
