Single Molecule Targeting Sequencing
December 15, 2015 | Terry Sharrer
Direct Genomics (Shenzhen, China) “is introducing the first single molecule DNA sequencer for clinical use that does not require any amplification of the sample. The DNA or RNA molecules are read directly without first having to make a large number of copies.” The technique relies on reflection fluorescence microscopy and fluorescent dyes, which the company claims results in near 100% accuracy at 5x magnification.
