Looking through the “Golden Window,” Deep inside the Brain

A biomedical engineer at the City College of New York’s Institute for Ultrafast Spectroscopy and Lasers has demonstrated the light waves in the 1600 to 1880 nm spectrum can penetrate deep inside the brain and produce clear images because of reduced light scattering. This particular wavelength is what’s meant by the “Golden Window.” MORE
