Imaging Microcirculation in the Diabetic Foot

The Dutch electronics giant Royal Philips is assisting researchers in efforts to see, in fine detail, the effects of vascularization treatments. One area of application is the microcirculation in the diabetic foot, where blood deprivation can lead to amputation. The imaging technology is called “perfusion angiography,” where x-ray pictures are turned into colorful images that indicate blood flow. MORE
