Blood Test for Telomere Topography Predicts Cancer

Telomeres have long been thought to be predictors of life expectancy, and telomere resiliency is implicated in the kind of immortality we call cancer. Now, scientists at Northwestern University have identified telomere pattern characteristics that predict cancer three or four years before it presents. It would be a wonderful thing if this discovery could be turned into a screenable, actionable clinical tool. MORE
