Nanoparticles to Prevent Tooth Decay

Research groups in the US and China, respectively, have found that nanoparticles containing farnesol (a natural 15-carbon, hydrophobic compound), and nanosheets of graphene oxide inhibit oral bacteria that cause tooth decay and gum disease. Both materials hold the possibility of long term if not permanent coatings to protect teeth lifelong. MORE
