While Genome Analysis in 90 Minutes; Whole Exomes in Less Than 60 minutes

You may have seen that television commercial which tells us it took 13 years to do the first human genome, and now we can do a hundred in a day via the cloud. This piece explains how that is done, using Amazon’s “Elastic Compute Cloud” and a text analyzing software program called “Churchill,” developed at Nationwide Children’s Hospital (Columbus, OH). Actual sequencing is done separately, but once the sequence is written in text, NIST evaluation rated the analysis at 99.9% for accuracy and 99.66% for diagnostic effectiveness. MORE
