Nanobots Used in a Live Mouse for the First Time
March 17, 2015 | Terry Sharrer
For the first time, scientists have demonstrated that nanobots can deliver therapeutic “cargoes” in living animals, reminiscent of Fantastic Voyage. Research done at the University of California, San Diego designed the delivery machine and its propulsion system—which relies on the reaction of stomach acid and the bots’ zinc coating. Resulting bubbles push the nanobots to imbed in the stomach lining where nanoparticles complete the delivery. No toxicity was observed. MORE
