Bubble Wrap in Diagnostics

This piece ought to be in the “why didn’t I think of that” category. Wanting a cheaper way to perform diagnostics tests than using 96-well assay plates, George Whitesides at Harvard’s Wyss Institute found that he could use bubble wrap for this purpose. The bubbles are sterile on the inside and gas permeable. And, with a dab of clear fingernail polish, they can be sealed after a needle injects the material under study. MORE
