Intel’s “Curie” Chip for Wearables

At the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas last month, Intel announced its dime-sized “Curie” chip that could change the market for wearables. The electronics include a Bluetooth low-energy radio, motion sensors, and components to monitor various kinds of body movements. Recently, Intel partnered with the parent company of Ray Ban and Oakley sunglasses to make smart “goggles” for skiers, while the Curie chip could make newly launched fitness products immediately “old fashioned” by their large size.
