Imagine using a plastic straw, inserted through a keyhole, to see what’s behind a closed door. This is similar to the way endoscopes show cavities inside the body. With new software developed by the Fraunhofer Institute for Integrated Circuits (Erlangen, Germany), however, input from a camera that takes 25 pictures a second can be integrated into a wide view of, say, a bladder or abdominal cavity.
