When this piece appeared, Thomas Eric Duncan was still alive in Texas Presbyterian Hospital. Ironically, TPH was one of the 250 hospitals (out of the nearly 6,000 in the US) that had a “Little Moe” room-sterilizing robot. This device uses a very powerful xenon bulb to emit high intensity UV light, which its maker claims can kill 99.9% of viruses and bacteria (including Ebola) in a hospital room in 5 minutes. MORE
