This sounds a little like “Pac-Man”—genetically engineered bacterial robots (aka “bactobots”) that travel to a specific tumor site (cholesteatoma of the skull) and “eat” the tumor. That’s the strategy of Bacterial Robots (Cincinnati, OH), and while this may seem farfetched as a surgical tool, the company has succeeded in making a bactobot for water remediation. MORE
