Researchers at the Regenerative Biomaterials Lab of the University of Arkansas have developed means for holding living cells in a porous foam which allows them to release the fibrous proteins and polysaccharide gels known as extracellular matrix. They believe that this natural material can be injected into severely injured muscles to regenerate normal tissue with little or no scaring. MORE
