VA Mobile Healthprovider

This doesn’t sound like cutting edge progress, but the fact that the Veterans Health System is proceeding with mobile health initiatives could have more influence on Congressional support for telemedicine than just about any other factor.  From April to June of this year, the DVA will conduct a pilot program that distributes mobile devices to doctors in 18 of its medical centers.  These devices will have access to the DVA’s own app store, which should interface with the Department’s electronic medical record system. If successful (by metrics not identified in this piece), the devices and apps will be made available to other DVA medical sites over the following 18 to 24 months. MORE
