UCSF's Automated Pharmacy

Though this piece is a subjective interpretation by architecture/engineering/interior design firm EwingCole (Philadelphia, PA and other locations), it reviews the necessary elements of an automated pharmacy: robotic dispensing, total parenteral nutrition compounding (a potential source of serious errors), repackaging machine, bedside scanning and automated record keeping.  The piece also gives two examples of EwingCole installations: the Bayhealth Medical Center (Dover, DE) and the Penn State Hershey Medical Center (Hershey, PA).   MORE
