Automation Causes Job Losses

At least since Parson Malthus’ gloomy predictions about population growth, economists have wallowed in dismal forecasting, which sometimes has been right. This piece describes two MIT School of Management professors’ conclusion that automation technologies have been responsible for job stagnation over the past 10 to 15 years. And, just as Malthus missed a few observations, one can wonder in this case if there has been too much or too little automation, particularly in healthcare, since the 21st century began. MORE
