Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York has enrolled (i.e. contributing blood samples) some 25,000 patients in its biorepository, “BioMe.” As those samples are sequenced for genes indicating metabolic rates that data is entered into the patient’s EMR for “clinical implementation.” Physicians treating those patients receive alerts about their “fast” or “slow” metabolic rates, which influences both dosages and drug-gene interactions.
