Artificial Ovary Regenerated

At Wake Forest’s Institute for Regenerative Medicine engineers have created an artificial ovary by encapsulating ovarian cells inside a membrane that allows oxygen and nutrients to enter the capsule, but prevents the patient’s body from rejecting the cells. As this piece claims: “With this scenario, functional ovarian tissue from donors could be used to engineer bioartificial ovaries for women with non-functioning ovaries.” MORE
