Palomar Medical Center (Escondido, CA) is testing a wearable wireless vital signs monitor for surgical patients. Made by Sotera Wireless (San Diego), the “ViSiMobile” (SEE VIDEOS) device, about 5”x 3”x 2”, is worn on the wrist with a pulse ox attachment to the finger and BP cuff on the arm. It measures pulse, respiration, skin temperature, blood pressure, blood oxygen, and heart beat, and is primarily aimed at continuous tracking of these signs in patients under anesthesia. MORE
