Saliva Test for Diabetes

Iranian scientists in Tehran have developed and tested a glucometer that takes its reading from saliva. It’s detection limit is 0.007 mg/dl. Glucose oxidase in saliva is much lower than in blood; so, this invention’s impressive sensitivity may open the way for bloodless diabetes testing. A commercial version is anticipated in April 2013.
