WHO Compendium of Emerging Health Technologies (2011)
May 29, 2012 | Terry Sharrer
This downloadable document from the World Health Organization lists about three dozen innovations that are either in development or are commercialized already—e.g. fetal heart monitor and pulse oximetry by mobile phone, lab-in-a-backpack, subcutaneous drug delivery device, portable telemedicine unit, non-pneumatic anti shock garment, portable hemoglobin meter, et al. Each item has a statement about the health problem being addressed, product description and claims, and both email and phone and contact information for the developer. Most of the products are aimed at community medicine in field stations. MORE
