Tracking Heartbeat in Real Time on a Smart Phone

As one of several projects in the Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne’s “Guardian Angels” suite, researchers have developed an electrocardiogram platform that combines a highly sensitive body sensor, a Zigbee radio module and a computer chip that is optimized for processing biological data such as heartbeat. The system, as shown in a video, takes its reading and forwards the results to a provider by way of a smart phone. MORE WITH VIDEO
